Replace School Docs

Note: It's not always intuitive to convert a word document to a pdf using the print command.

On each of the school web pages a page called Forms & Links serves as a central place for school forms and links. Periodically these files need to be updated.

Often these documents start out as a word document.  This example uses the Intermediate School Handbook

On the page it is listed as a simple pdf file.

To covert a word document to pdf is done best by going to file to print. Especially for use on the web.

It is simple to do, simply select Adobe PDF as the printer. if you do not see this you can use Cute Pdf Writer. It works the same. If you do not see either, just call tech support and it only takes a minute to install.

Just click print. (You can go file to save as pdf, but it is not recommended.)

Browse to your newly created pdf.

Once you log in you will click Edit Album.  *if you have trouble logging in try this tutorial.

you will see a screen like this.  Click Manage on the right.

Click unlink.  However...

It may be better to actually delete the old file.  Since it can still be found with a search feature.

you can upload more than one file at a time if you want by clicking bulk upload.

Click add files

Navigate to the folder where you have the file or files.

Using bulk upload i can select two documents at once.

Click Open

  Wouldn't you rather work with clean code?   Its a yoke to have to reformat, but it's a light yoke, that will make your life easier.
